The Circular-IMTA-Demo project, based at the TUS Biowetlands facility in Mount Lucas, Co. Offaly, will attend and exhibit at the upcoming All-Island Bioeconomy Summit in Enfield, Co. Meath on 19th May 2026. The event will bring together researchers, industry stakeholders, policymakers and innovators to explore the role of the bioeconomy in advancing sustainable development across the island of Ireland.
At the summit, the team will exhibit its work developing the integrated multi-trophic aquaculture (IMTA) demonstration site within the circular bioeconomy framework at TUS Biowetlands. This approach will highlight how waste streams can be recaptured and transformed into valuable resources, while using nature-based solutions such as constructed wetlands to support nutrient recovery, water treatment and biodiversity enhancement.
The exhibition will provide an opportunity to showcase the site’s development as a living demonstration of circular bioeconomy principles in action, fostering engagement, knowledge exchange and collaboration. Strong interest is anticipated from attendees in scalable, climate-resilient solutions for rural communities, as the project continues to contribute to innovation and sustainable bioeconomy development in Ireland, particularly in the Midlands Just Transition region.
