We were delighted to welcome representatives from EURASHE (European Association of Institutions in Higher Education) to our DAFM Just Transition Funded Bioeconomy Demonstration Hub at Mount Lucas. The visit showcased Ireland’s commitment to developing a sustainable, circular bioeconomy, with a focus on peatland rehabilitation, integrated multi-trophic aquaculture (IMTA), and biorefinery innovation.

The Hub serves as a living laboratory, driving research, education, and industry collaboration to unlock the potential of bio-based solutions for climate action and rural regeneration. EURASHE’s engagement highlights the importance of skills development and applied research in accelerating Europe’s green transition.
