Circular-IMTA-Demo Project Update.

As we step into 2026, we’re reflecting on an incredible year of progress for the Circular-IMTA-Demo Project and looking ahead to what’s next. This initiative continues to push boundaries in sustainable aquaculture and circular bioeconomy innovation, and we’re thrilled to share some highlights and plans for the year ahead.

2025 Achievements at a glance.

- System Design & Setup: We successfully implemented our Integrated Multi-Trophic Aquaculture (IMTA) demonstration system, combining species across trophic levels to create a closed-loop, resource-efficient model.

- Biodiversity Assessments: Comprehensive species evaluations have begun, focusing on conservation, invasiveness and bioeconomic potential.

- Data Transparency: Thanks to our collaboration with Derilinx, we will soon be launching an open data framework that ensures stakeholders can access and leverage project insights for research, policy and innovation.

Our Website: Your Gateway to Circular IMTA.

In 2025, we also launched our project website, designed to be a dynamic hub for:

- Project Updates & Milestones.

- Interactive Dashboards powered by Derilinx for real-time data visualisation.

- Resources & Publications for researchers, industry and policymakers.

- Community Engagement Opportunities.

If you haven’t explored it yet, bow’s the perfect time to visit and see how we’re making sustainability actionable.

What’s Coming in 2026.

This year, we’re focusing on:

- Scaling the IMTA System and integrating biorefinery components for nutrient recovery and value-added products.

- Open Portal Official Launch.

- Enhancing Data Sharing through improved interoperability and open standards.

- Stakeholder Workshops to foster collaboration across aquaculture, bioeconomy and biodiversity sectors.

- Bioeconomy Demonstration Hub Official Launch

Why It Matters.
